When you come to use for diagnostic and therapeutic testing and treatment, expect our highly-qualified staff to serve you promptly, efficiently and with great skill. To schedule an appointment for any of the imaging services listed below, please use our One-Call Scheduling -- 704.660.4920. After you make your appointment, physician orders for exams may be faxed to One-Call Scheduling at 704.660.4122. We require a written physician’s order for all procedures.

Diagnostic Radiology:

General diagnostic radiology services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Services such as fluoroscopy, IVP’s, and special procedures are available on a scheduled basis. Special procedure exams include, but are not limited to, myelograms, facet joint injections, ERCP’s, biopsies, fistulograms, hysterosalpingograms, selective nerve root injections, lumbar or caudal epidural injections, arthrograms, lumbar punctures, and picclines.

Mammography:

Lake Norman Regional Medical Center's Mammography Services are accredited by the American College of Radiology and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Our mammography services also meet all required standards by the MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) and the North Carolina Department of Environment, Health and Natural Resources. Mammograms are performed by technologists who are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography. Screening mammography is available by appointment or walk-in basis at Lake Norman Imaging Center. To schedule an appointment, call One-Call scheduling at 704.660.4920.

Services provided by the Mammography Department include screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, spot magnification imaging, breast needle localizations, stereotactic breast needle biopsies, and specimen imaging.

DEXA (Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry):

Our specialized equipment precisely quantifies bone density of the spine and hip, knowledge that is crucial to fighting osteoporosis, a condition that affects 25 million Americans annually, primarily women, and is associated with 1.3 million fractures annually.

CT Scanning:

CT scans are available on a scheduled basis, with emergency scanning services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. CT scanning services include, but are not limited to, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, sinus, extremities, biopsies, aspirations, joint injections, necks, spines, IAC’s, and facial scans. For your convenience, patients or procedures requiring IV conscious sedation will be arranged by the Imaging Department.

MRI:

MRI services include, but are not limited to, chest, pelvis, extremities, joint imaging, TMJ’s, head, spine, MRA’s, specialized vascular techniques, and much more. For your convenience, patients or procedures requiring IV conscious sedation will be arranged by the Radiology Department.

MRI services are available on a scheduled basis.

Diagnostic and Vascular Ultrasound:

Ultrasound services are available on a scheduled and emergency basis. The Ultrasound Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology in abdomen, OB/GYN and vascular ultrasound. Ultrasound services include, but are not limited to, chest, abdomen, pelvis, small parts, OB/GYN, paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, vascular, arterial/segmental pressure exams.

Cardiac Catherization:

Cardiac Catherization services are available on a scheduled basis.

Angiograghy:

Angiography services include, but are not limited to, nerve blocks, facet injections, IVC filter placement, PICC line insertion, Hickman Catheter evaluation, nephrostomy, abdomen/runoff/selectives, and cerebral. Angiography/special procedures services are available on a scheduled basis.

Nuclear Medicine:

Nuclear medicine services, available on a scheduled and emergency basis. include, but are not limited to, bone scans, thallium stress tests, adenosine stress tests, GI bleed scans, thyroid scans, and lung scans. Our Nuclear Medicine Department meets all requirements and standards set forth by the North Carolina Department of Environment, Health, and Natural Resources.

Radiologists:

Radiology/Imaging procedures are interpreted by radiologists who are members of Mecklenburg Radiology Associates, which is the oldest private practice radiology group in North Carolina. A 27-member physician group, Mecklenburg Radiology Associates offers a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services throughout portions of Mecklenburg and southern Iredell counties. Generalized and subspecialty services are available at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

All members of Mecklenburg Radiology Associates are board certified with subspecialty training, including five neuroradiologists (including a fellowship trained neurointerventional radiologist), three musculoskeletal radiologists, four interventional radiologists, one pediatric radiologist, two nuclear medicine subspecialties, three dedicated mammographers and several fellowship-trained body imagers with expertise in CT, MRI, and Ultrasound.
