Welcome from the Chief Nursing Officer
Pamela T. Rudisill, MSN, M.Ed, RN, CNAA-BC, CCRN

Professionally and personally, there's no better place to be a nurse than Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Our hospital is known for providing the best medical care in our area. One good reason for that honor is the active involvement of our Department of Nursing staff and nurses in all areas of the hospital.

Over the past ten years, the Department of Nursing has

  • advocated expansions in surgical services, women's services
         and dialysis
  • recommended utilization of an automated medication system
  • supported implementation of an intranet system
  • created "bed huddle" teams to improve patient flow

Lake Norman Regional has an all RN staff of clinically competent nurses. Our staff excellence has enhanced good nurse-physician relationships and communication. Backed by an accessible nurse manager/supervisor, our nurses are encouraged to further their education and are provided with the assistance to do so.

Providing our staff with a safe, enjoyable place to work is a key ingredient to our success at Lake Norman Regional. Our workplace culture entrusts employees with autonomy and accountability. We ensure adequate nurse staffing and encourage and value feedback from staff members in a number of ways. Our employees can choose from a multitude of career paths knowing that hard work is rewarded with career advancement. And, we focus on the employee's well-being with programs for workplace injury prevention, a tobacco-free workplace and an employee wellness program.

Our Lake Norman Regional nursing team continuously demonstrates the very highest levels of patient care. It makes sense that we treat them with the same respect and value they place in every patient we serve. Whether through direct patient care or helping our facility improve efficiencies, we understand that our nurses do far more than offer medical care. They're advancing the very nature of healthcare in our community.

In addition to her duties as Associate Executive Director/Chief Nursing Officer at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Pamela Rudisill is the Region 3 Director of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and President-Elect for the North Carolina Organization of Nurse Executives. An adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Pam is an active member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and served an elected three-year term on the National Board of Directors. Pam is actively involved in the American Nurses Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, North Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders and Sigma Theta Tau. Pam has published a number of articles in clinical publications and is a sought-after national speaker.
