The Medical/Surgical Department (Med/Surg) at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center is designed for patients who either have extreme medical problems or for those who are recovering from surgery. Located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the hospital, patients are treated by competent and caring nurses, CNAs (certified nursing assistants) and physicians.

Med/Surg uses a point-of-delivery care design -- mini-nursing stations, referred to as PODs, are located throughout the department, so nurses can reach patients quickly. Services offered in the Med/Surg department include in-patient dialysis and in-patient chemotherapy treatments.
