PET Scanning Imaging and RadiologyServices

PET/CT combines the sensitivity of molecular imaging with the anatomical clarity of traditional CT. PET's molecular imaging provides the most sensitive method of detecting minute cancer cells based upon their physiological and chemical processes.
By combining the PET images with the CT images the ability to localize ,stage and treat cancer increases. The images that are obtained can also be used when an oncologist is planning radiation treatment to localize the areas containing a tumor.
The PET/CT services at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center are provided by Alliance Imaging. These exams are available on every other Friday and can be scheduled by calling our One Call Scheduling Department at 704-660-4920.
