Mooresville, NC (July 12, 2013) — Lake Norman Regional Medical Center is hosting a free seminar, Do You Suffer from Osteoarthritis? Relief is Here!, on August 6th and August 20th to educate attendees about MAKOplasty®, the robotic-assisted technology that works to relieve knee pain. The August 6th seminar will feature James McDonald, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon, and Medical Director of The Orthopedic & Spine Center of Lake Norman, and the August 20th seminar will feature David Hillsgrove, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon, as presenters. The first August seminar will take place in Community Rooms A and B at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, and the second in The Center for Surgical Weight Loss at Lake, both from 6 to 7 pm.
Lake Norman Regional is the first hospital in the area to offer MAKOplasty®, a minimally invasive partial knee resurfacing procedure that treats early to mid-stage osteoarthritis in the knee. MAKOplasty® can provide quicker rehabilitation and more natural motion in the knee post-surgery compared to a total knee replacement.
