MOORESVILLE, NC (October 15, 2012) – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Katie P. Collins, D.O., to its medical staff. Collins joined the medical staff in July at Lake Norman Obstetrics and Gynecology, located at 131 Medical Park Rd., Suite 102, Mooresville, N.C. 28117. She is board-eligible in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN).
Collins attended Virginia Tech and received a Bachelor of Science degree focused on human nutrition, foods and exercise. Following her bachelors, she received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from The Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine located in Blacksburg, Virginia in 2008. Collins went on to complete her residency in OB-GYN at the Pitt County Memorial Hospital, which is associated with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
She is practicing general obstetrics and gynecology with special interests in high-risk obstetrics, minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery, and adolescent gynecology.
Collins is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Originally from Christiansburg, Virginia, Collins now lives in Mooresville with her husband, Adam, and two year-old son, Porter. She enjoys spending time with her family and considers herself a runner. During her time in Blacksburg, she developed a passion for Virginia Tech athletics and continues to support Hokie Nation.
