Mooresville, NC (January 22, 2014) – Marie Burdett, RN, BSN, CSHA, has been promoted from Director of Risk Management to Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer. Burdett has over 20 years of healthcare experience and was the Chief Quality and Risk Officer at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo., before joining Lake Norman Regional in 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Her role at the hospital consists of oversight for all regulatory and risk management. During her time at the hospital, she has implemented the patient safety committee and patient safety program.
Tina Smith, BSN, RN, has been promoted from Core Measure Abstractor to Manager of Quality and Patient Safety. Smith has over 20 years health care experience and has held previous positions with the hospital including Director of Critical Care and Telemetry, Medical/Surgical and Pediatrics and has also stepped into the role of Interim Chief Nursing Executive when needed. Smith received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
