The Volunteer Auxiliary of Lake Norman Regional Medical Center (LNRMC) have given five scholarships out on academic performance and financial need at $2,000 each for the 2012-2013 school year to graduating high school seniors in the hospital’s service area. Each scholarship is awarded$1,000 per semester. All students have to maintain a 3.0 or above grade average. The scholarships are intended to encourage the study and, ultimately, participation in medical and health-related professions. Students pursuing a degree or certification program in the medical field are encouraged to apply. Students can reapply for the scholarship the second year without submitting a new application. One scholarship was awarded to a junior volunteer from LNRMC who demonstrates outstanding participation in the program and potential for success in the healthcare field. Auxiliary Scholarship applications are available through local high school guidance counselors or at the Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Visitor’s desk. Candidates must complete an application form and provide documentation of acceptance into an accredited healthcare education program.
