Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Honors their Volunteers at the Annual Volunteer Auxiliary Awards Luncheon

New Volunteer Auxiliary Officers for 2013 – 2014 Installed

MOORESVILLE, NC (July 3, 2013) – Volunteers from the hospital’s Auxiliary were recently honored at the Annual Volunteers Auxiliary Awards Luncheon. Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Auxiliary’s mission is "excellence in service through people who care." Volunteers work in almost every hospital department and serve a vital role in helping patients, visitors, family and staff. Volunteers contribute annually over 30,000 hours of service to the hospital. In addition to helping throughout the hospital, the Auxiliary consistently raise funds to meet a variety of community project needs.

Lake Norman Regional was honored to have special guest presenters attend the event. Robert Carney, Jr., Executive Director of the Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corporation, was the luncheon’s keynote speaker. The Presentation of Colors was delivered by the Mooresville High School Naval JROTC under the direction of Commander Mike Powden. Ms. Stephanie Gordner, of Mooresville High School, delivered the National Anthem. Leigh Whitfield, the hospital’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations, provided opening remarks and comments of appreciation, both personally and from the hospital’s staff and administration. Whitfield remarked, “The volunteers at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center have dedicated countless hours to the auxiliary and the hospital. Their generous commitment is highly regarded by the hospital and the community.”
 
The Installation of Officers, representing the Executive Board of the LNRMC Volunteer Auxiliary, presented at the luncheon and inducted by North Carolina Hospital Volunteer President, Marion Sharkany, included the following Auxiliary members:
