MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 22, 2013) — Lake Norman Regional Medical Center is hosting free seminars, Is MAKOplasty® Right for You, on February 5th and 18th to educate attendees about the robotic-assisted technology that works to relieve knee pain. The seminars will feature David C. Hillsgrove, M.D., orthopedic surgeon, on February 5th and James P. McDonald, M.D., orthopedic surgeon, on February 18th. Dr. McDonald is also Medical Director of the hospital’s Orthopedic & Spine Center of Lake Norman. These February seminars will take place in Community Rooms A and B at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center from 6 to 7 pm.
Lake Norman Regional is the first hospital in the area to offer MAKOplasty®, a minimally invasive partial knee resurfacing procedure that treats early to mid-stage osteoarthritis in the knee. MAKOplasty® can provide quicker rehabilitation and more natural motion in the knee post-surgery compared to a total knee replacement.
