MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Lorena Silva, BSN, MSN-L, MBA, RN, has been recognized by WomenWithKnowHow.com as the Elite Health Care Provider Award winner for its Impact for a Cause Awards. Silva was honored on September 15, at the organizations’ awards dinner, which also recognized nine other Charlotte-area women for their accomplishments within their respective fields.
While Silva is new to the executive team at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center as of November 2011, she has already made a significant impact as the Chief Nursing Executive. Silva is at the forefront of instilling a healthy and knowledgeable community, focusing on educating her employees and the public through a variety of initiatives.
She has been involved with local departments and schools in the community to provide learning opportunities covering many different topics. She also has showed a desire to reach the underprivileged within the community.
Her employees have benefited from her valuable medical knowledge, and she encourages continued learning by providing nurses with approved internet sites aimed to increase their knowledge and promote better understanding of the medical field.
