Our generous volunteers are a key part of our mission to advance health care in our community. Men and women of all ages give thousands of hours assisting patients, their families and staff members and help in nearly all departments of Lake Norman Regional.
While we work with our new volunteers to help them find the most fulfilling opportunity, we also work hard to ensure the position utilizes their talents and fits their schedule. In addition to donating their personal time, volunteers raise funds for hospital projects. In past years, they have donated new furniture for the chapel, wheelchairs, a resuscitation mannequin and an activity table for young visitors.
Rising high school juniors and seniors, our Junior Volunteers have the opportunity to work with and observe experienced health care personnel in the workplace. In addition to being a rewarding community service, the experience has led many former volunteers to pursue careers in health care.
Dedicated volunteers have a visible role in many key areas of Lake Norman Regional including the gift shop, information desks, cafeteria and hospital administration. Volunteer positions are available in morning, afternoon and evening shifts on both weekdays and weekends.
Our departmental volunteers provide direct non-medical patient care and family and staff support in areas such as medical/surgical and the emergency department. Whether transporting patients or serving complimentary beverages and pastries to family members waiting with patients, our volunteers are a helpful, caring resource that helps everyone at Lake Norman Regional feel at home.
For the safety of patients and staff, we carefully screen new volunteers and request that those interested in volunteering meet the following criteria:
