Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Names Employee of the Year
Mooresville, NC – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center has named Yang Hancock, RN, Critical Care Unit, as 2016 Employee of the Year. This award is the highest honor bestowed on a hospital employee each year. Hancock was chosen from among 544f hospital employees for the honor.
“Health care requires a special blend of great people skills, tireless energy and the ability to work well under pressure,” says Stephen Midkiff, Chief Executive Officer. “People who work in health care share the common desire to help others and make a difference in people’s lives. It’s a pleasure to recognize our employees for their dedication to our patients and to providing outstanding care.”
Employees are nominated for the award by their hospital peers based on their commitment to patient care, their professionalism, and their contributions on the job.
Yang Hancock began her career at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center as a Volunteer. She was hired in May, 2003. As her education progressed, she was awarded scholarships and was promoted to a CNA. Over time, Yang worked diligently and became an outstanding RN. Yang has been nominated on several occasions for the Daisy Award and is known by her co-workers for her willingness to help whenever the opportunity is needed. Yang is someone who jumps right in and assists without question. A physician has been quoted as saying “Yang sets a new level of service.” Additionally, a co-worker has mentioned “In my years of nursing practice, I have never experienced the teamwork and dedication to patient care than I have here with Yang”. A family member called to express gratitude for the service Yang provided stating, “Yang’s professionalism and expertise made all the difference in the world.”
