Lake Norman Regional's comprehensive care begins in the earliest stages of pregnancy, with prenatal checkups and services tailored to your specific needs. You'll learn about proper nutrition and work with your obstetrician to develop a birth plan, choose a pediatrician, and get properly prepared.
High-risk pregnancy care
Perinatologists (doctors who specialize in high-risk pregnancy care) are available to manage pregnancy-related conditions such as gestational diabetes or preeclampsia, as well as provide specialized care for those with existing medical conditions.
Labor and delivery
Our delivery rooms provide everything doctors, nurses and other maternal specialists need to provide you with excellent care. Experienced labor and delivery staff utilize advanced medical technology, and have the expertise to manage C-section (cesarean) births and other surgical procedures.
Lactation and Infant Nutrition
Lake Norman Regional's Center for Lactation and Infant Nutrition, located at 146 Medical Park Road in Suite 110, provides full feeding assessments and consultations for newborns.
The center's lactation consultants are registered nurses and all have undergone additional training to hold International Board Certified Lactation Consultant designation. Through a consultation, a lactation consultant determines if a mother is producing enough milk for her baby and bases a care plan around any findings.
The center is accepting new patients and does not require a physician referral for services. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (704) 660-4373.
Support services and education
Lake Norman Regional offers a variety of classes to prepare mothers and families before and after the birth of a child.
CuddleBugs is an innovative maternity program that helps expectant and new moms prepare for pregnancy, labor and delivery, and newborn care. It provides the support, guidance and education it takes to boost comfort and confidence levels in their new roles as parents.
Monthly e-newsletters provide important information about each month of pregnancy. These up-to-date communications explain in detail about the baby's growth at every stage, as well as what's happening within the expectant mother's own body.
Our classes and programs for expectant and new parents will help you learn more about childbirth your new baby.
