Davis and Lake Norman Regional Medical Centers Implement New Communication Tool for Family Members
9/19/2018
Davis Regional and Lake Norman Regional Medical Centers recently introduced a new program at their hospitals that will allow family members to track the status of their loved one throughout their surgical procedure.
Using a large monitor in the waiting area, the family member can find their loved one via a confidential patient ID. Once they locate their patient, then it’s a simple as looking at the color of the status bar to see where the patient is. Colored status checkpoints include Pre-OP, OR, PACU (recovery), Discharged, and Cancelled. For example, a patient ID colored pink indicates the patient is in Pre-OP; green signals OR, and gray indicates patient is being discharged.
