Successful Health Awareness Night at Mooresville Spinners Baseball game last night with Lake Norman Regional Medical Center represented well by Mitzie McCurdy, Community Outreach Director, and Wendi Snowberger, Physician Outreach Director. Blood pressure screenings and healthful information were provided to an interested crowd. And, the Spinners defeated the Bootleggers! Great night all around!
Lake Norman Regional Medical Center participated in the Faith UMC Health Fair on Saturday, April 27, 2019, with Donna, RN, Community Outreach Nurse, and Tina, RN, Breast Health Navigator from the Imaging Center, on-hand to discuss various health topics.

Healthcare executives from hospitals in Mooresville, Huntersville and Concord participated in a discussion panel where they entertained questions from chamber members in attendance.

This year's GO RED FOR WOMEN annual event, "Healthy Hearts Luncheon," held February 15, 2019, was a great success with a very large attendance of women and men to hear guest speakers Brian Hearon, M.D., interventional cardiologist, and Daniel Koehler, D.O., cardiologist, discuss "Women & Heart Disease" and "Aspirin & Statin Use in Heart Disease Prevention," respectively.
The Medical Explorers of Lake Norman Regional Medical Center enjoyed an interesting and informative program on February 6, 2019, for their monthly meeting at the hospital. Fred Hefner, director of cardiopulmonary services, hosted the students and provided an interactive learning experience.

Stephen "Steve" Midkiff, CEO of Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, served as the 2018 Board Chairman for the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce. He was recognized by Kirk Ballard, Chamber President, at the Annual Chamber Business Luncheon on January 25 for his dedicated service. "A Legacy of Leadership" was this year's luncheon theme; a most appropriate theme for Lake Norman Regional Medical Center's leader. Thank you, Steve, for your commitment to the hospital and community and for always leading by example of service above self.
Dr. Matthew CiRullo, of Lake Norman Medical Group, Family Medicine Mooresville, participated as a panel member and presenter for the Vaping Information Night hosted by Mooresville High School and the Mooresville Graded School District on January 24, 2019. He is committed to the health and well-being of children, teenagers and families throughout the community. Medical Explorers visited The Stork's Landing Maternity Center during their monthly health care exploration meeting at the hospital on January 3, 2019. Julie Mauney, service line director for women's services, orthopedics/neuro/spine & bariatrics, provided a tour of labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms as well as the opportunity to see the special care nursery. Jennifer Frame, RN, women's services educator, provided an overview of nursing careers.The students commented on and were very appreciative of the opportunity to see this special area of the hospital and to learn from experienced nursing leaders in women's services.
Physical and Occupational Therapist Lori, DPT, OT/L, Cert DN, AIB-VR, of the Lake Norman Rehabilitation Center was today's guest presenter for the Mooresville-Lake Norman Rotary Club. Her topic was "Vestibular Rehab." For more information on the hospital's rehabilitation services, click here.
Medical Explorers Post, a division of the Boy Scouts of America, enjoyed an evening (Dec 6) in the surgical services department. Area high school juniors and seniors participating in the Explorers Post this school year learned about scrubbing in, what takes place in the OR, and about diverse careers available in the surgical field. The department's director and staff hosted the students for their monthly meeting at the hospital, contributing their time, experience and expertise in the surgical services field.
Michelle Bertsch, M.D., FACS, of Lake Norman Medical Group, Surgery and Breast Health Mooresville, was the guest speaker at the October 23, 2018, AARP meeting in Mooresville. Dr. Elizabeth Clay, Family Medicine Physician with Lake Norman Medical Group, Family Medicine Denver, was the guest speaker at the South Iredell Senior Center in Mooresville on June 29. She presented "Skin Cancer Awareness" followed by an opportunity for questions and answers with a very engaged audience.
