Davis and Lake Norman Regional Medical Centers Host Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to Fight Hunger
3/18/2024
MOORESVILLE, NC – Davis and Lake Norman Regional Medical Centers invite community members to join their efforts to fight hunger by participating in the second annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive benefitting FeedNC. Peanut butter is a sought after item for food banks because of its high nutritional value and long shelf life. Yet, it is one of the least donated items. The Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive kicks off on March 4 and will run through March 25.
“We recognize the impact hunger has on an individual’s health and wellbeing, and we want to help those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity,” said Alec Grabowski, network CEO at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. “An estimated 9.8% of people in Iredell County are facing food insecurity. Our Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive is a great way to partner with community members to reduce hunger in our area.”
A peanut butter collection bin will be placed at the main visitor entrance of Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Other nutritious butters such as almond butter or sunflower seed butters will be accepted as well, in plastic jars only.
